White bamboo/cotton 2x2 rib knit. It comes in a tube that is 18 inches wide.
That’s right, a tube! No selvage! Which is kind of weird, but kind of perfect, because, this fabric is absolutely perfect for cuffs (wrist and ankle) and neckbands. And the thing those all have in common is that they are small, whether you are sewing for yourself or for tiny people. And with a tube, you can put that tiny pattern piece on a fold, then just move the fold for the next one and repeat as needed. Much less wasted fabric and less wasted time playing pattern Tetris.
Plus it is very soft and stretchy, with great recovery and a perfect pure white that matches everything.
And it is sustainable. Bamboo is a renewable resource and requires much less water to grow and process than cotton, making this a great choice if one of your New Years resolutions was to have less of a negative environmental impact when sewing your own clothes.
But I would never ask you to sew with less than incredible fabric, and I can’t keep my hands off of this French Terry. It is so soft and stretchy and has fantastic recovery.
