Maker(s on the Coast) Sewing Retreat, February 20th-23rd, 2020
Creativity, Nature, Community. My three favorite things, and I would so love to share them with you!
Join me for 3 days on the coast in Pescadero, California (between San Francisco and Santa Cruz) of sewing, natural dyeing, yoga. cooking and eating good food and drinking tasty drinks, walking on the wild, winter beach, talking, laughing and building friendships we will never forget.
We will start with a welcome dinner celebration on Thursday, February 20th, get settled and start getting to know one another while we craft by the fire (and eat cake!).
Friday we will custom dye linen, poplin and jersey fabric with a local expert, walk on the beach, pattern prep, wine taste and goat cheese taste on a beautiful farm full of cute and probably pregnant goats.
Saturday will be more walks on the beach, yoga, sewing that custom, one of a kind, hand dyed by you fabric into a dress using a size inclusive pattern and your own perfect measurements. There will also be some down time you can spend on the beach, napping, chatting, laughing, snacking, knitting or sewing any project you can dream up with that poplin or Jersey Fabric you dyed, and more crafting and community by the fire that night.
Sunday is our last chance to play on the beach and a big goodbye breakfast (cinnamon rolls, may be involved), then we all head home, back to real life, reinvigorated to be our best selves and live our best lives.
You will go home with a dress that makes you smile all day every time you wear it, and a pattern to sew again and again, 5 extra yards of hand dyed fabric, whatever embroidery or coloring you create at night, and 7 new, true friends.
There are only 8 spaces available because I believe in the magic of small groups coming together to create and to get to know one another. There are four single occupancy rooms with king beds, a king bed in a shared room with me and three local spaces for makers who will join us for all meals and activities, but go home to sleep in their own beds at night.
All food, drink, adventure, sewing patterns, fabric and supplies are included with your reservation. I have 5 sewing machines I can bring for those flying in or who can otherwise not bring their own machine with them. I will be in touch in January with a questionnaire to ask whether you are bringing your own machine and if you have any dietary restrictions or preferences I should know about when planning so that I can make sure everyone has the best experience possible.
Early Bird Pricing of $100 dollars off is only available through Saturday, September 14th. You may chose to pay in full today, or pay a non refundable 50% deposit today and I will invoice you on October 18th for the remainder of the payment.
For those traveling from more than a drive away, you can fly into either San Francisco, Oakland or San Jose and I will help you make arrangements to get from the airport to the retreat! Just get in touch before you book any travel arrangements so we can talk about time and other details.
Due to the nature of the retreat and the organization I need to do to make it happen, your reservation is non refundable. If for whatever reason you find yourself unable to attend after booking, I will work with you to find someone to take your place, but can not guarantee that a replacement will be found. Please read all legal terms and conditions before booking your spot. If a minimum number of Reservations are not made by September 20th, I reserve the right to cancel the retreat and will refund all payments made as soon as possible.
