Handmade Gifts for Kids - To Spark Imagination!

Here it is friends, part 3 in my Handmade Holiday Gift Tutorial Roundup series!  Any kids who happen to be on your Christmas list are in serious luck this year, because I have here for you a list of some amazing tutorials to make gifts that children will love and that you will love to sew, to give and play along with them!

Handmade Holiday Gifts for Kids

 Dinosaur Tail

It is my informed opinion that every kid secretly wants to be a dinosaur.  Even my quiet, rule following, serious girl puts on her dinosaur tail and roars, twirls, terrorizes block towers and giggles her little head off.  And the color and pattern options are endless!

Crayon Wallet Tutorial

A present that kids can take with them anywhere and that provides hours of creative fun!  Buy a little pad of paper and a pack of crayons, sew this wallet up in any number of beautiful cottons and you will be the gift giving hit of your family!

Memory Game

Watching kids concentrate to find matching pairs while talking about colors, shapes and how cute the little animals are on the squares of fabric from your scrap basket, will make your fabric loving heart explode!  Plus it is education and can be brought anywhere!

Super Hero Cape

Superhero is right up there with dinosaur on the list of things every kid wants to be.  This tutorial makes the very best cape, is super easy to follow and can be personalized for any super kid you love!  I love to make it with satiny fabric and an appliqued felt patch with the kid's first initial!  And you should seriously check out this small shop with the most beautiful collection of felt!

One of a Kind Dress or Shirt

And if there are any little people on your list who could really use or would really love a one of a kind dress or shirt instead of (or in addition to) one of the imagination sparking gifts above, The Made By Rae Geranium Dress pattern is my number one favorite clothing pattern to sew for my daughters!  Ruffle sleeves, lined bodice, button closure, gathered skirt, dress or shirt length options!  What else could you want?  Oh! And the instructions are so well written and easy to follow.  If you do not have this pattern, you really really should.

And if all of that is not enough, check out my Sewing for Kids Pinterest board! It is overflowing with clothing and gift inspiration!

Thank you for reading friends, let me know which project is inspiring you, and happy sewing!
