Hi there friends! I have a few questions for you?
1. Do you love sewing?
2. Do you love giving handmade gifts?
3. Do you love babies?
Well, friends, lucky you! I have got you covered this year! Look!
I have 5 incredible ideas for handmade baby gifts for you to sew up for the new, little, sweet love in your life! Each one can be sewn in half an hour or less and all would be gorgeous sewn in any of the fabrics in my shop!
Measuring 1 yard by 1 yard, with flannel on one side and any fun, gorgeous quilting cotton you love on the other side, these blankets are perfect for swaddling, stroller rides, chilly mornings in the car seat or to lay out on the grass at the park and soak up some of that Vitamin D!
This pattern by Sewing Mama Rae Anna makes the very best bloomers. They are the bloomers both my girls wore every warm day of their first 3 years and the same bloomers I sold in my old shop. They are sweet, ruffled, fit over any type of diaper and look super cute under a dress or with a tee shirt. And they are so versatile! I have made them from quilting cotton, swiss dot, double gauze, voile and lawn and every pair is a treasure!
I know I may be biased because I wrote this pattern, but friends, it really is the perfect bib pattern. It works for newborns for soaking up all that drool and spit up. It works for bigger babies tasting food for the very first time. Stubborn toddlers can not get it off when they are determined to make a mess and big brothers and sisters can still fit in them when they want to be like the baby. You can sew one in under 20 minutes, look gorgeous in any fabric you choose and I have even put kits together for you so that you can get everything you need without having to scour the internet or look at any materials lists!
Both of my girls already have all their teeth, but I still want to make them some of these because they are so cute! And the pattern, by See Kate Sew, is so well written and super simple to follow! These would go perfectly with a bib made from my pattern and could probably even be made to match perfectly with the scraps leftover from one of my kits!
One of my very first sewing tutorial blog posts. Written 10 days before my first daughter was born, based on a gift I was making for my niece. The pictures in this post show my blogging and internet marketing inexperience, but the sewing is solid, and I stand by this teether being perfect for helping your babies feel less pain, and that little scrappy owl is just so cute and squishy!
If there is a baby you love (or if there will be soon), in need of some handmade goodness this holiday season, I sincerely hope that I have given you the inspiration you need! If you would like some more ideas, check out my Baby Sewing Pinterest board - it is full of cuteness!
And because I am sure there are more than just babies on your holiday list, I am hard at work on 4 more Handmade Holiday Gift Guides to share with you! Be on the lookout!
